We had hoped to start this project in spring 2021, but the COVID pandemic has slowed down
our building schedule on the previous Cole Avenue project. We were able to complete the
excavation work and pour the frost walls in fall 2021, but then put the project on hold for the
winter. In spring 2022, the initial plumbing was completed, the foundation slab was poured and
we began framing in May 2022. The framing was completed and the roof shingled by November
2022 and we have added exterior insulation and exterior window trim while waiting for the
plumbing and electrical rough-in to be completed. We will move inside for the remainder of the
winter to work on interior insulation and sheetrock. Once warm weather returns, we will work
outside on the vinyl siding and continue work inside on flooring, trim and painting. We hope to
have the project completed by fall 2023.
Build Updates
Maple Street House
The second of two new homes constructed on a lot at the corner of Cole Avenue and Maple Street in Williamstown. The home, with four bedrooms and twelve hundred square feet of living area was sold to the new Habitat family in January 2024.
Our Cole Avenue and Maple Street projects, constructed on land obtained from the Williamstown
Affordable Housing Trust, have been completed. The Cole Avenue home was completed and sold to a
new Habitat family in November 2021 and the Maple Street home was completed and sold to new
Habitat family in January 2024.
Our next project, in the planning stages, will be a five house development on Summer Street in
Williamstown. This land was also obtained from the Williamstown Affordable Housing Trust. We expect
to begin site development in spring 2024 and construction of the first home in fall 2024.
